Conditions of admission: the student must have completed the undergraduate study of Early and Preschool Education

 

Competencies acquired after graduation:

  • Knowledge and understanding of educational theories and recent scientific knowledge about the nature of child learning and the process of development and education; knowledge and understanding of policy issues of early and preschool education;
  • ability to adapt the practice of early and preschool education to the specificities of individual child development, educational and cultural context; ability to recognise and meet the special educational needs of children in the context of early and preschool education;
  • use of different forms of language and artistic expression in early childhood education curricula; ability to use theoretical models and scientific research in the field of early childhood education to change and develop practice (reflexive practitioner);
  • ability to promote healthy lifestyles and develop and integrate different curricular areas in practical work.

 

The study programme includes:

  • a higher level of knowledge in the basic areas of science that form the field of Early and Preschool Education
  • additional expertise in the field of quantitative and qualitative methodologies of scientific research
  • additional expertise in the field of art, media, and social content

 

Completion of studies:

The study ends after obtaining a minimum of 120 ECTS credits by:

  • completing all exams from the study program,
  • completing all other study requirements
  • writing and defending a graduate thesis

 

Access to further levels of study:

Upon completion of the studies, the holder of the degree can continue the study at the postgraduate or specialist university study in the field of early and preschool education or other related areas, where the completion of differential exams may be a prerequisite for enrolment.
