Admission Requirements: Completion of the Undergraduate University Study Programme in Early Childhood and Preschool Education.
Core Competencies Acquired upon Graduation:
- knowledge and comprehension of educational theories and recent empirical insights into the nature of child learning, development, and upbringing; knowledge and comprehension of early childhood and preschool education policy issues;
- capacity to adapt early childhood and preschool education practice to the specificities of individual child development, as well as educational and cultural contexts; capacity to identify and address special educational needs (SEN) within early childhood and preschool education environments;
- integration of diverse forms of linguistic and artistic expression within early childhood and preschool curricula; capacity to apply theoretical models and scientific research in early childhood and preschool education to transform and advance professional practice (reflective practitioner);
- proficiency in promoting healthy lifestyles; capacity to develop and integrate diverse curricular areas within practical application.
The Curriculum Comprises:
- advanced knowledge within the core disciplines constituting the field of early childhood and preschool education;
- supplementary expertise in quantitative and qualitative scientific research methodologies;
- supplementary knowledge encompassing arts, media, and social content.
Graduation Requirements:
Completion of the programme requires a minimum of 120 ECTS credits, fulfilled through:
- the successful completion of all examinations within the curriculum,
- the fulfilment of all other academic obligations,
- the compilation and public defence of a graduate thesis.
Progression Routes:
Upon graduation, qualification holders are eligible to pursue postgraduate (doctoral) or specialist university study programmes in Early Childhood and Preschool Education or related fields, with admission contingent on passing bridging examinations.
